Driving Test Examiners reviewing the Situation?

Both Driving Test centres in Limerick and I imagine the rest of the Country are closed today and have been for a few days. Obviously the talks on the implementation of new structures are under way but what about the poor unfortunates waiting to sit their Tests?

With 109 Examiners we are talking about something over Four thousand Tests gone awol if the centres are closed for a Week. So I guess this will once again become a topic for inclusion on the Nine O’clock news if it hasn’t already.
As we mentioned in our earlier articles over many months the demographic shifts here in Ireland will continue to be the main reason for the ever lengthening test delays. However when we install a suitable system of Learner Driver Training and insist that this is met before allowing someone to sit a Driving Test then the problem will assume manageable proportions.

Our rate of immigration has been running at 50,000 for the last couple of years and if this trend continues to grow at its current rate then the implementation of Driving Lesson Legislation will become a much more heated scenario. All citizens will aspire to own and drive a car and without stricter rules governing this whole area we will pay a bigger price for the continuing carnage on the roads.
